168 Sushi: Japan Buffet & Bar

Image
Don't let the name fool you, 168 Sushi isn't just amazing sushi, there's also a wide variety of other food choices. Aside from the fact that a few sushi rolls fell completely apart as I was picking them up with my chopsticks, I'd still say that the food was incredibly enjoyable. Walking in alone gives you a warm and welcoming presence, which I personally feel is a major factor in any overall positive experience. Instead of getting up continuously and making your way through crowded buffet lines and awkwardly bumping into a bunch of random people, 168 Sushi avoids all of those issues by having iPad's where you can select all of the items you want and simply confirming your order. Shortly after, all the food your table selected gets handed to you from 168 Sushi's staff. Speaking of the staff, that's probably the one thing about 168 Sushi that I would change. Most of the staff members I've ever come across at 168 Sushi come off as either crabby or just ...

Swiss Chalet: Family Dining

Image
Don't be mistaken by the name "Swiss Chalet," there's nothing Swiss about it. Swiss Chalet is a family restaurant that prides itself in its rotisserie chicken, which really has no flavour. The inside of the meat is juicy while the outside is always chewy in a non-satisfying way. The ribs are just good. The flavour is tasty but nothing above and beyond. Sometimes the meat is deliciously tender while other times it is chewy. The fries have no seasoning, which is what the "Chalet sauce" is for. A few pastas are also available, as well as burgers and other items you expect to find at a family restaurant. The food is very affordable, in comparison to other sit-down restaurants. Swiss Chalet is the place to go for an adequate meal that will be enjoyable in a nice atmosphere. This is not your fine dining experience. -Bryana Gero

El Mariachi: Tacos and Churros

Image
Tucked away in the "Village in the city" , aka Streetsville, hides El Mariachi, a small cantina style restaurant boasting authentic Mexican cuisine and tequila. El Mariachi completely disproves the idea that "size matters", featuring a bar and seating area that's comparable in size to that of a Toronto apartment it is most definitely a surprising experience. The staff at El Mariachi were very inviting and make patrons feel at home as soon as they walk through the door, and happily brought us to a table without any wait whatsoever. Both my girlfriend and I opted for the burritos and were blown away, they were at our table in under 15 minutes and were prepared to perfection, in fact it was such a wonderful experience that we had to make a return trip just to see if the rest of the menu lived up to expectations. On our return visit we once again ended up getting the same thing, however this time we tried the chimichangas and were equally blown away by the staf...

Paramount Fine Foods: Mediterranean Cuisine

Image
Paramount Fine Foods is a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant located at 5700 Mavis Rd, Mississauga.  Paramount Fine Foods began as one Middle Eastern Restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario and is currently the quickest developing Middle Eastern Food chain in Canada. The restaurant shares the most legitimate Lebanese formulas utilizing the freshest and finest fixings which have been passed down for ages to appreciate. With the amazing smell of their prepared bread in their wood-consuming stoves, charcoal BBQ meats, and assembled desserts. Paramount Fine Foods has unique meals which are created from the very rich taste. In my terms, the restaurant does it absolutely best to give the best, quick service and fulfilling all needs of the people who come to the restaurant. The vibe you get from when you step into the restaurant is a very exciting vibe to get your food, for my experience of going to Paramount Fine Foods almost once every week, its always something to look forward t...
